HM - OPorto City View

Great apartment

Pros: It was in a great location, really close to all the local attractions, made it easy to get around the city and see a lot in just a few days. There were many coffee shops and restaurants very close. The view of the city is certainly a main feature of this location. Great communication by the owner.

Cons: Generally very clean but the wooden beam is covered in a thick layer of dust. The ceiling above the bed is very low due to its location in the annex. Maybe a kettle for the British guests who bring their own tea bags. The bed was ok, not super comfy but not terrible, I wouldnt want more than just a few days though.

City view apartment

Pros: Porto is exceptional, fantastic food, wine, music & site seeing. Very welcoming. The apartment was ideally located within walking distance of the many bars & shops. The apartment was quiet & secure. The apartment was very good value for money & provided every basic need.

Cons: Well, at the front of the apartment was some kind of homeless crack den. They did their own thing & didn't bother us but it was alarming. The wardrobes were musky. The loft bedroom was accessed via steep narrow stairs. I couldn't see any form of fire escape. The \

Very central and spotlessly clean

Pros: it's a very central location - handy for the station and it's adjacent metro station and the cathedral (and the whole of the old town is compact), handy for the bridge to cross to the other side of town. The balcony is what makes this spotlessly clean property special which sadly we couldn't use as it rained almost constantly. the water always hot and the kitchen was well equipped though we only used the kettle. We received several updates from the host.

Cons: The mezzanine bed had a very low ceiling and the stairs up were quite steep and it was rather airless (cured by keeping the windows and door open (they tilt so they don't have to be wide open). I'm not sure who's living next door in the semi-derelict building but there were often slightly dubious people around it.

Wonderful quiet and cozy nest above the city!

Pros: I absolutely loved this property! The view was AMAZING, had everything needed for a long stay, plenty of space, great deck space. Excellent host response! Surrounded by restaurants, transport and sites but quiet.

Cons: I liked the cozy loft bedroom myself - but may be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

Fantastic location and views but bed space is in the roof and challenging.

Pros: The location is fantastic - just minutes from Sao Bento metro and an easy walk down to Ribiera and the riverfront or past the Cathedral to the top level of the Luis I bridge and Vila Nova do Gaia. The kitchen is very well equipped. The terrace with fantastic view is amazing for morning coffee or evening wine. Even better than it looks in the photos.

Cons: It is a studio rather than an apartment so quite expensive for the space you get. The bed - and only a bed as the space is small - is on a mezzanine right under the roof. You can’t stand up and one person needs to climb over the other to get out. The stairs are steep and the glass wall is low and a little scary!

Pros: The city views were great. Everything you needed was close by for shopping and eating.
