Charming Bonfim Penthouse

A break girls trip property, plenty of space and great location with easy access to public transport

Pros: Anne was a fabulous host who met us upon arrival with a bottle of wine and local treats. Anne was very helpful when it came to information about the property and locality. The penthouse was well equipped with everything we needed and more.

We liked Porto and Bonfim

Pros: Our host had a guide to living in the apartment, how to work everything, where to eat, what to visit - very informative. There was plenty of room for the four of us. We had breakfast from the bakery downstairs and a couple evening meals in the excellent restaurant a couple doors up the road. It was a bit out of the centre, but the 20-minute walk was not difficult and we only used public transport once in the four days we were there.

Cons: The washer/dryer took a very long time to do a small load, so we just used the washing machine and dried the clothes on a supplied rack on the terrace. Can't really think of a disappointment. Very nice holiday.

Wonderful apartment in convenient, interesting location

Pros: Even though we arrived at about 21.30, Marcia , our host, was waiting for us. There was a welcome tray with wine and delicious pastel de nata tarts. She even made us a cup of tea then showed us round the fabulous apartment, pointing out where everything was kept. The apartment was very stylish, spacious and comfortable. If you were unlucky with the weather, it would be a great place to chill out with books and wine. We found the location ideal - in a boho district as there is an arts university there but only a 20 min walk from the start of the old town. The metro is directly opposite the apartment however. We were 4 women and we felt safe there and it wasn't noisy at night. Marcia sends lots of info by phone but also provides an info booklet, both have useful recommendations. The apartment was so lovely, I'd have liked to live there for a while!

Great apartment and a wonderful hostess.

Pros: The apartment is spacious and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It has excellent parking, good access to the apartment, excellent beds, and bathrooms. A lovely balcony and well equipped kitchen. And a special mention to Marcia who couldn't do enough to assist. She was incredible. Thank you Marcia

Cons: There wasn't much we didn't like, though it was a bit of a walk into the main area of Porto. But there were good restaurants, supermarkets and cafes nearby.

Excellent apartment and great location for accessing Porto’s main tourist areas.

Pros: Fantastic location and apartment had everything we needed. Host was excellent, always quick to respond and met us when we arrived. The apartment was really comfortable and well equipped. It was across the road from a metro station and just a 10 minute walk to the train station. The river was a 20 minute walk away. We’d thoroughly recommend this apartment.

Cons: It would be good to have better blinds in the bedrooms as it was a bit light in the mornings but that was just a minor point.

Family weekend in Porto

Pros: Marcia's communication and helpfulness were excellent. The location was great, easy access to the Metro line or a short walk to a lovely park, to resteraunts, to a supermarket. Great pastries and coffee just next door.

Cons: Nothing to complain about.

Perfect property in a great location

Pros: Spacious property in a great location. Had everything and more we could ask for. The property owner was so very helpful.

Marcia is a gracious welcoming host and makes effort to enable one to enjoy what Porto has to offer.

Pros: Beautiful, home apartment that is within 15 mins car ride. Centrally located with own garage.

Cons: Challenging garage space but that’s because of station wagon size. Could fit in but unable to properly close the garage. Still safe as it’s a private property parking lot.

Excellent accommodation.

Pros: It was a home away from home. Very comfortable. Excellent location opposite metro station but still a nice walk into old town. Lots of restaurant choices in walking distance. Supermarket choices close by. A lift to the entrance. Had everything we needed and more. Very helpful tips and suggestions. Our most favourite accommodation on our holiday.
