My Ribeira Guest House

Pros: Lovely studio apartment. Very comfortable bed. Fantastic location near the river and restaurants. Lovely cafe downstairs for coffee and snacks

Cons: Sound of traffic and hooting in the tunnel nearby - usual city traffic and noise.

Comfortable

Pros: It was a a lovely quaint guesthouse.this was our first trip to Portugal the accomodations were comfortable it was decorated nicely, there are only 2 rooms per floor as we were traveling with family this was nice The location was very convenient so close to shops and restaurants.

Cons: We did not do our research so our fault for not realizing there were no elevators. Again no fault of the guesthouse we found the traffic noise did not stop. The showers are very small, compared to what we are used to in North America.

Lovely location and historic building

Pros: Brilliant location just off the waterfront in the centre of the historic old town of Porto. Beautiful views of the Lois bridge from our balcony and a gorgeous tiled building just over the road - which made the 4 flights of stairs worth it! The old stone inside the rooms was a lovely feature also.

Cons: Be warned that the property is next to a very busy road and bridge, which made it very noisy early in the morning, so if you’re a light sleeper you may struggle. It was a bit disappointing that the breakfast did not start until 8.30am, as we like to get going early for a city break, because of this we are elsewhere during our stay but if it was earlier we would have opted in for this . Also there was no coffee or tea in the room which was a shame, especially when breakfast doesn’t start until later, it would have been lovely to have a coffee out on the balcony in the mornings. We even asked nicely to buy a takeaway coffee one morning at 8am but were turned away by the staff member who stated breakfast does not start until 8.30am. Adding some of these small gestures would have really made a difference to our stay

Pros: Convenient location, very clean, and the staff were nice and friendly.

Cons: It might be a bit noisy for light sleepers, and since the area is quite crowded, it’s sometimes easier to take a taxi if you walk a bit further away.

Comfortable stay in great location

Pros: Wonderful apartment. Room was super clean and smelt really nice. Check in was easy and bed was comfortable. I highly recommended staying here. Fantastic location also.

Cons: A super minor thing but having the two single beds pushed together as a double meant that they moved apart in the night. But that is only a problem if you move a lot in your sleep.

A nice place in a nice area

Pros: The room was super nice and the location was perfect, close-by to the river with restaurants and life. Downstairs cafe serves nice breakfast, which is the same place if you have breakfast included. The bed was very comfortable. You can go for a morning walk along the river. Highly recommended.

Cons: The only downside was that the property is next to a tunnel and apparently people love the sound of their cars inside tunnels so if you’re a light sleeper this might be an issue, otherwise earplugs helped.

Pros: Code from cafe downstairs. Balcony and view of bridge.

Cons: We collected code for room from cafe downstairs on arrival, climbed 4 floors to find code didn't work, had to go down to cafe to sort out. Good exercise!

We felt very welcomed and comfortable.

Pros: We loved the spacious room and the decor. Staff were amazing and extremely helpful and the food was excellent. Couldn’t fault property and its operation.

Cons: The street noise was totally unbelievable . Motorcycles on the street and in the tunnel. Not the fault of the property but an issue for the Porto.

Great value for money.

Pros: Cozy and clean apartment in a great location: near the ribeira and the cathedral and also the rest of sightseeing spots. The room has stone walls and the decoration is really nice. The bathroom was clean and had hot water.

Cons: It’s in front of a main street so it can be quite noisy.
