Riverside City Centre Apartments

Lovely, clean apartment that makes an excellent base for exploring Porto and surrounds. Highly rated

Pros: Riverside City Apartments is an excellent apartment. It is located with lovely views of the River Douro and you can see 4 bridges close by that cross the river. The location is very quiet as it lies on a small road. If you are exploring Porto, it is a great location with the city centre within easy walking distance. It is about 15 minutes walk to the main Sao Bento railway station. There are 2 metro stations a similar distance away. The apartment is very large and airy. It was very clean. The bed is a large double and very comfortable. The bathroom was excellent with a great shower. As a traditional Portuguese apartment there are stairs up to the apartment but no lift if that is needed. There are many restaurants within easy reach. The apartment makes a great place to stay in Porto and explore the city and surrounding district - highly recommended.

Pros: We have stayed at several places on this trip and the Riverside Apartment was a comparatively very good value property with well functioning kitchen, Wifi, electrical, and plumbing. The building retains its historical character and facade, but is thoroughly remodeled inside. The unit was quiet, spacious, and well situated to walk Porto Old Town and the Gaia riverfront. The private owners live nearby; were friendly, helpful and ready to respond to any consumable needs

Cons: Old Porto is stairs and hills with rough sidewalks and roads. Plan accordingly

True Portuguese hospitality!

Great location and hosts.

Pros: We rented 2 flats one for us one for friends. Our friends had the downstairs location which was huge. Ours was a little smaller with a view of the river, though blocked somewhat by trees. If you have heavy suitcases or have issues with stairs you might not want to stay in the penthouse. Hugo and his dad were excellent and helpful though out our stay. The location was excellent.

Cons: The bed wasn't very comfortable for us but it was big. The shower is very small but as it is an old building not much could be done about that. This place takes pets and unfortunately some owners will let their dogs bark while they are out and sometimes they would bark a little when they were around. Personally, it took away from the stay for me.

Pros: The apartment was quite large and very comfortable, just above the river and within easy walking distance to many of the Porto attractions. Hugo provided us with some very good dining recommendations and even arranged a lunch booking for us on our train trip up the Douro River.

Pros: The hosts were very friendly and on hand to help if any assistance was needed. A list of recommendations in Porto was provided which was useful and a pleasant unexpected gesture. All the essentials were provided and worked well with good space within the garden apartment. The city centre is within walking distance and the apartment is located close to the riverside but away from the crowds. If you are happy with no frills comfort, then would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Cons: Although close to the riverside, the shortcut was down an extremely hill!

Perfect Location to explore Porto

Pros: Exactly as described and as on photos. Pre-arrival instructions come with useful information like wifi, parking, supermarket, restaurants, etc. Comfortable beds, very calm at night, walking distance to supermarket, city centre and main points of interest. The apartment was efficiently furnished and equipped. The ground floor living/kitchen lacks a little of day light as it shows on the photos. But this can be a plus during the hot summer months to keep the place cool. There is also heating/cooling AC. We took our sunset drink outside on the big public esplanade with fantastic views on the river. Hosts are super responsive, welcoming and friendly. - Our stay was perfect!

Cons: Suggestion: Putting a small dish drying rack next to the kitchen sink:)
