Hostel Alegria

Pros: Location is excellent, in a nice neighborhood, close to bakeries, cafes and metro, the room was really nice and clean, right next to the main bathroom, a shared kitchen was well maintained and equipped, we could also store our luggage after our stay.

Cons: As we were right next to the main bathroom, it was sometimes at night really noisy! With some people shouting to each other or playing loud music.

Porto stay

Pros: Simple and minimalistic design perfectly matching the high ceilings and wooden floor. Have a really good time chilling inside. Clean. Drip coffee in the kitchen. Well equipped kitchen. Cool people from all over the world to hang out. Not fancy like, over hyping everything.

Cons: .

Pros: Nice kitchen, very close to the center. Staff was very friendly.

Cons: Thin walls, don't expect much privacy.

Pros: A friendly welcome by Isi, who speaks perfect English. He gave us lots of very useful information. The whole hostel was spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen. The garden at the rear of the house was an added bonus.

Cons: Room was small and extremely hot, even with the fan on constantly. 2 flights of stairs up to the nearest toilet and showers. 2 flights of stairs down to the kitchen and garden. Very noisy road outside the property.

Nice stay in Porto

Pros: Good communication, no problem to do late check in. In the kitchen all facilities you need

Cons: All was excellent

Pros: Very nice place to stay on a budget, great staff, nice room, very comfortable shared bathroom, free luggage storage

Cons: If you care about it - it can be a bit lound because you can hear people for other rooms. It didn’t bother us much though

Pros: 10/10 place. Beautiful house with wooden floors and a garden to chill out in. Rui was very chill and friendly as well. This place is perfect even though the walk into town is a bit longer. The kitchen and shared showers were super clean. Would say the target group is people in their late 20s and 30s who enjoyed hostel life in their early 20s but want a cosy and clean room nowadays. A Portuguese guy just opened his own cocktail bar, Fragil, just around the corner and he creates hands down the best cocktails we ever had.

Pros: We met both Isi and Rui and they were both very helpful and kind. Providing suggestions on places to go. They were also very accomodating. The kitchen space was very well facilitated where we were able to cook our breakfast and dinners. The outdoor is a nice place to sit for meals and relaxing. The rooms were nice and bright and we were able to store some personal items in lockers provided. Overall the whole hostel was very clean and updated. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone who is planning to visit Porto!

Pros: Close to Marques metro and can walk down Santa Catarina street to the centre. Lovely garden and spotlessly clean. Friendly staff.

Cons: Pillows too small.
