Pros: The hotel is located in a beautiful old building. The room looked good and the beds were comfortable. The towels were soft and fragrant like in the most luxurious hotels. The guy at the reception was very nice and explained a lot to me about the city.

Great stay in this little gem

Pros: We had four rooms in this lovely small hotel. Breakfast each day was excellent. Plenty of choice. Free cake/coffee was available all day by the reception. The staff were very friendly and helpful and sorted out an issue we had with a booking for a Port wine tour. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Located not too far from the centre, we would definitely stay there again if in the city.

Lovely little hotel around 15 minutes from centre

Pros: The room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, even providing us with a map with recommendations for attractions and restaurants. In the hallway there were some slices of cake and coffee which was a nice touch.

Cons: The room was a little on the smaller side but still lovely. No lift and so some people may struggle.

Pros: Quiet location but close to the city center. Interior has character, and the beds were very comfortable.

Cons: Shower was very small and our room was also small but we didn't have the option to book a larger room as it was last minute.

Pros: Very clean, great position - close to everything but not in the mess - very kind staff. We didn't have breakfast in hotel so can't talk for it. definitely recommended.

Cons: Not a complaint but a heads-up for fellow travellers: in portugal buildings are often old (and beautiful) so it's common everywhere to hear footsteps from above floors. In our case we had some kind of Mammoth sleeping in the bedroom on top of us that was going around until midnight. But no big deal, just know where you're travelling so you don't complain about trivial stuff.
