Pros: This is my first solo trip. I am really worried about sleeping alone, but the private room in Sweet Swell is comfortable and make me feel relaxed:) Thanks for the host letting me change the room since I really can’t sleep well with the cars noisy. I really had great nights here. Also I love the shared kitchen and the garden🥺

Pros: The garden area was nice, even I couldn't use it the first day because of the weather. The Living room area was very spacious.

Cons: The sleeping rooms were to small for the amount of people. There was not enough space to hang jackets or leaving shoes.

Pros: I really liked the location — close to everything, quiet, and very clean. Miguel was very kind and helpful. Great value for money, I totally recommend it! 🌟

Cons: the bunk beds had three levels, and the top one wasn’t very practical if you needed to get up during the night.

Nice place for a night or two

Pros: Really quiet, fairly close to the city centre and really comfortable. Would return the next time when backpacking in Porto.

Cons: The standard was a bit lower compared to the rest of the Portugal when it comes for providing shampoo, hygiene kit, etc. Not that it's mandatory but we've found higher standard in the next 7 places that we stayed in, in Portugal.

Pros: One of the best accommodations I’ve stayed in! The room was extremely comfortable with a super powerful overhead fan, clean linens and bathroom. Very close to city centre but also very quiet and peaceful location. The host Miguel was very kind and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I visit.

Cons: I’ve no negatives to report!

What happens when the owner really cares about the place

Pros: Hands down one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. You can see that the owner is invested in every little detail of the business, starting with the place itself and ending with the small things. Definitely recommend for solo travelers.

Cons: Maybe an AC in the rooms might be useful, but during my stay it wasn’t that hot, so no UX here.

Best Porto accommodation

Pros: The location is great and Miguel is super friendly, I stayed for few nights and the whole environment was cozy and comfortable. Nice people and there is a garden outside the house, highly recommended and would pick it again for next visit in Porto.

Pros: The hostel was super clean and cozy. It’s very chill and more quiet, but that was the vibe I was looking for.

Cons: I couldn’t get the electrical outlets in my bunk to work :(

Pros: I really enjoyed my stay at Sweet Swell. The place is spotless, clearly cared for with love, and perfectly located in the centre of everything. Miguel is such a thoughtful and helpful host. Highly recommended!
