Excellent budget option

Pros: It is super cental and have a cool charm of another epoque :) I stayed one night and it was totally comfortable, at least for such length

Excellent location

Pros: Excellent location!! So close to everything.. Friendly staff.. Room was spotless.. Didn't have a room with a view but I didn't mind as I was gone from early morning until the evening. Stayed for 2 nights as I wanted to explore Porto before heading to Braga for a wedding. Highly recommend the hotel for it's location alone.

Cons: Carrying a big case up the steps to the reception was a nightmare..

Pros: The LOCATION was fabulous. Right next to the gorgeous McDonalds and near amazing coffee/pastry shops. The hotel was cute, the staff were friendly, and they let us check in early. So appreciated, as we had arrived early that morning and our red eye flight didn't allow for rest. We loved it here. Porto is amazing

Small, but nice hotel in an excellent location, with a few steps

Pros: Excellent downtown location, just a short walk from Porto City Hall; the bed was quite comfortable; the room was clean and quiet; the staff were kind and helpful; and there was a fast, free Wi-Fi available.

Cons: The room was relatively small, and the air conditioning was poorly maintained, struggling to cool the room and exhibiting an inconsistent fan speed. This hotel may not be suitable for elderly guests or those with mobility issues due to a large, steep staircase at the entrance and a high step-up (approximately 1 meter) to access the shower.

It was the perfect place to land into Porto and stay a night before continuing our Portugese adventures.

Pros: In such a beautiful area, with an angel statue opposite. The beds were really comfy and their being a bath in the room was a real bonus! The staff were really kind and friendly too.

Pros: Location of the Hotel Universal is perfect! We stayed on the 5th floor in room 502 with wonderful view🤩. Reception works 24 hours, for us it was very important because we arrived at 11.30 p.m., check in and check out was very quickly👍.

Lovely. Highly recommend

Pros: Lovely property, easy to find and right in the centre of restaurants, supermarkets and public transport. Clean and comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised by the bathtub. A nice way to spoil ourselves on our Camino from Lisbon.
